Sardinia coasts have got several old sighting towers. In Villaputzu there are four towers: Murtas, Cape San Lorenzo, Turri Motta and Porto Corallo Tower; they were built by Aragoneses between XVI and XVII century. The aim of the towers was very important and useful for safety of Sardinian population: fighting frequent Barbarian and Muslim invasions. The most of the towers have got a cylindrical form: the diameter is 10 meters and the height is 12 meters.

Murtas and Cape San Lorenzo towers controlled Cala de s’Acqua Durci, while Turri Motta and Porto Corallo Towers controlled Porto Corallo bay. Turri Motta is located in Punta Pranedda, the hill near the residence. It is possible visiting the most of the towers, even in their interior.
